The perfect way to follow up our visit to the WWII Museum was with the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL. It is located on the base where Navy Pilots are trained, while I didn’t leave with a Richard Gear look-a-like it was a fantastic facility. When I say this place is hands on what I mean is look live because there are not barriers around the aircraft. You could so poke you eye out.
That fact alone is pretty cool but many of the featured aircraft where “last of their kind” and had been restored by mostly volunteers, a true labor of love. It took us quite some time to get through the museum. There was just an amazing amount to take in.
We went on a weekend and unfortunately the lines were too long on the simulators, but those looked really fun. One of them actually spun around 360 degrees.
Looks like a great place. SHE loves museums.
