I guess it’s about time I share some of our trip to Hawaii, state number 49 for me! We spend the first week of the trip on Maui, mostly with our friends who were also there for the wedding. The catalyst for this trip was the nuptials of friends, great excuse for a trip. The first part of the week was packed will all kinds of fun group activities.

The bride and groom got us all together at a luau to start things off right and get the mai tais flowing. I had fun playing with my camera and working with the low light settings. I’m pretty proud of the results.
With all that celebrating done the last few days were spent SCUBA diving, snorkeling and driving the “Road to Hana”. We each have our favorite parts of the trip and the Hana drive is a top pick for me. We made a few stops to see just a sample of natural wonders. I’ve got a thing for waterfalls.
We also found our way to the Seven Sacred Pools and did a fantastic hike to the falls, followed by some jumping off a cliff into one of those pools.

Near Hana we stopped to see some of the surfers really tearing it up.
There is not a bad sunset in Maui but we certainly captured a good one.
Thank you so much for being a part of our wedding. I couldn’t think of a better excuse to get to spend a week with you guys than to get married in paradise 🙂
