Get Me Outta Here

After seven days in New Orleans I was getting stir crazy and ready to roll on. Even changing hotels a few times didn’t help! What has happened to me, I’m ruined, will sedentary life ever work for me again? When we take off for two weeks at Christmas I’m always ready to head back by the end. But how can a city as fun and diverse as New Orleans not hold my attention. I think this is in part to my disliking of urban living. My office of is in a major metropolitan area and we lived in Minneapolis/St. Paul for six years before hitting the road. At that time we were both really ready to get out of the urban environment.

The pace of this tour in maddening at times but keeps things fresh, only a few location have we wished that an extra day was available. One of the comments we hear most often is how in the world we can stand to travel so much. It is more than just liking the lifestyle or liking to travel. This just fits us. I like having my time for me and not bothering with housework. Can it really be possible that living on the road is easier for us than living in a house somewhere? Am I really just a nomad? We joke about it but honestly it could explain so much.

I mean come on! We saw some great things.

We had killer grub

Visited with great friends

And oh the nightlife!!!!

Maybe it is just too crazy for me here, I still would love to move to Asheville, NC but who knows what I’ll think if we’d stayed there an entire week.

  1. LOL It could explain alot. Traveling is what you are used to now but sometime when you make the adjustment, it will be to a place of your choosing and you will adapt just fine. HEy!! I could take the NO housework at the moment too!!

  2. So sad to read about little Cassie. Some dogs are just characters…

The good thing about all the travelling is you’ll have test driven a few places before you decide where to settle….when that eventually happens.

  3. It’s so funny you say this, because we just spent 5 days in LA and I couldn’t wait to get back on the road! I was wondering the same thing – am I every going to be able to live in one place again?? It could be one of the hazards of our mobile lives.
