Song of the Week: Young Dead Men by The Black Angels. This song is featured on the True Detectives soundtrack, a show Josh and I are into.
Recap: This week was jam-packed with fun fun fun!!!! We had a few days off and chose to spend them in Southern Utah visiting Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP and Kodachrome SP. It was also a week full of visits not only did we see my Aunt in Phoenix but we dropped in on come Scottie friends who live near Salt Lake City. This week was not all good however, in preparing for our hikes we discovered that the cover for Josh’s backpack had leaked and everything inside has horrible mildew. We are still trying to get it all cleaned but a few things just couldn’t be saved. You can bet there will an REI visit in Denver.

Salt Lake City greeted us with cool temps and crazy winds, but hey I have plenty of tent stakes. One of the perks this tour brings is that we don’t work on holidays and we take full advantage of that. Utah has some majestic views to found from the miles of trails available. Unfortunately I didn’t plan well and we weren’t; able to visit a National Park (although we have been to Canyonlands and Arches already). That really isn’t a big deal since Utah has wonderful State Parks too. While Josh gets in a little fishing Pippi and I will hit the trails and hopefully find a few things to photograph. We had a short visit with Anita and her wonderful boys, Jake and Albert; she always inspires me to get my face behind that camera.
We will finish up the week with shows in the SLC area before heading home for a week’s vacation. A much-needed trip to see family.
I updated our calendar page to as far out as I know the travel schedule.
Well I should have posted this a long time ago, like when I was still in Utah!! One of my favorite perks that this job brings is the chance to meet up with other bloggers. We have certainly made the rounds out east among the Scottie folk. Unfortunately we so rarely make it west that peeps like Albert and Jake had to wait for while. I am already a fan of Salt Lake City but now after meeting Anita and Robb it holds a special place in my heart.
Inviting us to their breathtaking home in Utah, we enjoyed an afternoon of chatting and tail-chasing. Pippi was running up and down the desks and “snow tunnel” in no time, acting like well a real Scottie.
It was definitely worth the wait for this meeting, Anita and Robb are both wonderful people. Albert and Jake are just darling. Two of the best looking fellas I’ve met. Plus who can resist a snuggly rabbit!
If you don’t already read Anita’s inspiring blog please stop by and allow her to share the piece of heaven she has found.
