Lost Shit

Yup it happens, we lose stuff. Often it’s something of little value but that you have come to rely on. Misplaced or forgotten in a hotel room. While all hotels say that they will mail you items left behind, they usually “don’t find it”. Really didn’t see the laptop power cord still plugged into the wall, hmmm. That is just one more infamous lost item. We have left a few items of clothes, a travel mug or two and a USB jump drive. Oh well you move on and for months are more attentive. It is going to happen, little things left behind.

Other things just disappear, leaving no clue behind. That is what happened to our vacation pictures. Loaded onto an SD card that was safely tucked inside a a bright white reader, the whole thing vanished from the truck. You can imagine how upsetting this is, it would be a little more settling if you could think back and say I might have heard it fall or that you have put it in a pocket. Not that case, the dash had mysteriously eaten this one. I do believe this missing SD card is in the same spot as a name tag of mine.

Try as we might shit is going to get lost, such is travel life.

This post was inspired by the “loss” of an SD Card containing our vacation pics. The said lost item was found yesterday but I still wanted to keep this post.

  1. That’s awful……but stuff goes missing in our house and it doesn’t move!

Maybe it’ll show up sometime when you least expect it….here’s hoping.
