Another piece of “The Farm” was spotted yesterday while driving through a Mennonite community in Northern Indiana. A thick grassy pasture of rolling hills, a deep creek curving past oak trees. This pasture is home for a stunning pair of Belgium draft horses and a couple of Holstein cows. The farm I am referring to is our retirement dream, a little piece of heaven where we can raise animals and crops living a quite and peaceful life together. We talk about the kind of barns we like what we will grow how many tractors to get but mostly about cows and horses. As we travel the country often glances and hints of what the farm will look like are spotted. Neither of us know where the farm is or how we will find it but I know it is out there. Good thing I have 30 more years to look.
