Now we are really getting out there, into the full swing if this tour. I’m happy to share with you all that this will be a full national tour including stops in the west. Yes Annita we are heading west, finally. This week will include time in Indianapolis; New Providence, NJ and Bridgewater, NJ. The following week will see us to Allentown, PA and some stops around Baltimore and DC.
There are some definite perks to our lifestyle, like earning enough hotel and travel points that we get a huge break on vacation costs. We also get a chance to stay at resorts that would otherwise be too pricey. One fun perk is tied into our transportation. While we do travel around in the truck, a rental car is often a must once we are set up for a show. I can tell you that we have rented just about everything under the sun. I am partial to a Chevy Impala, the trunk is huge!! Every so often we get something a bit different, like a BMW or a Smartcar. Well this week’s rental in very different, it’s a 2013 Ford Mustang convertible in bright red. While I would never want to drive this on a daily basis the Stang sure is fun.

This week we will be in Schaumburg, IL and go back to our home base in Detroit for one show. It also looks like we will have time to take out our boat. Next week will see us in Indianapolis and making our way to New York state.
During the past week we had a chance to see a good number if Josh’s relatives. Many glasses of wine and beer were shared including a visit to Granite City Brewery, a favorite of mine.
We even had a chance to swing by Josh’s hometown.

We are hitting the road, at least for a bit. This week will find us in Cedar Rapids, IA and you can bet that we will be spending some time with family. There will be tales to tell I’m sure!

The time has finally come for me to replace my original Merrell Barefoot shoes. While they are still comfortable, the shoe is starting to fall apart. I don’t want a shabby looking shoe for spring; however they did last about a year. I’ve decided to go with a darker color this time, well not so much decided as it was the color on sale.
While they have released a number of new styles and colors, I still went with the Pace Glove. I like the simple and less flashy look. I’m sad to say that they don’t fit was well. The heel is tighter, the shoe is a bit shorter and they just don’t feel the same. This is a bit disappointing; in my option one of the best features the shoes had was comfort from day one. The new ones rubbed a bit the first few times I ran, not the end of the world for me but it would be for someone new to Barefoot running.
They feel a little tighter all around, which has lead to me wearing a thin liner sock most of the time. I have discussed in the past how wearing a liner does help keep the shoes from forming a gross buildup inside.
I do hate to write this about a brand I love so much but hey I also want anyone trying Barefoot for the first time to have a good experience.

My job by its nature in not structured, not even close. Some days we are working on the truck for thirteen hours and some weeks we only work a handful. Yesterday was one of those long days. Actually this week will be long. We are launching a new tour, I still don’t have permission to talk about the client, luckily we are doing our first handful of shows around Detroit. Things are always crazy when you are trying to sort out what you actually need once out there. Please forgive my absence while I sort out my tour and get back to having some fun.
