This site is about us, Josh and Abigail Van Gelder, and the adventures we find. We are a husband and wife marketing team, we travel the country year round with mobile exhibits. It is a very unique job and unique lifestyle. We are joined by our little Scottish Terrier, Pippi, who has fans of her own. If you like travel and strange adventures then you’ll enjoy us.
More about our job, it’s not really a job, it’s a lifestyle. We not truck drivers, but we live out of the semi-truck. Don’t fear, we stay in hotels. We work as a team, sharing the job tasks and responsibilities. When I say we travel I mean it; we are gone more than 320 days of the year. We call a few places home. We are both from Illinois originally can choose to spent time off with our families there. We do still own a home in Minnesota, where we started our life together. The company we work for, MRA, is a Detroit based firm. Lastly our mail goes to Cheyenne, WY. All are home to us.
Josh and I are college sweethearts who met at Western Illinois University, a love of Rugby and adventure brought us together. We are quite opposite in personality but that is why we work so well together. Our little fur baby Pippi brings us so much joy and makes us into a family. After spending six post-college years in the Twin Cities, we struck out on this adventure. We’ve not looked back since. The work we do is challenging and rewarding.
What we write here is simply our perspective and experience, not that of MRA or our clients.
This is our current exhibit

So we have learned a bit more about you now and realise why you travel around so. Glad you enjoy your lifestyle and we count ourselves (Bonny and me, Hector) as among Pippi’s fanclub!

I love your fall photos? Going to sell those anywhere?
Hey Abigail, first, thanks for following my blog. It was never really intended for “public consumption” but it’s been fun finding the occasional “random” visitor. Second, Pippi is quite the little cutie. Jake and Albert would like to invite her to come visit when your travels bring you to UT… a return trip to Antelope Island could be enjoyed by all.
And third, as Rugby lovers you might find it interesting to note that my step-son (former marriage) is one of the top rated college players in the country…Ryan Roundy, plays for BYU (http://www.rugbymag.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=487:march-2011-player-of-the-month&catid=117:awards&Itemid=333). Small world.
Happy Travels.

I enjoyed speaking with you on Tuesday. You are an interesting young woman & are living a lifestyle that I would have loved when I was young. West Windsor was enriched by your presence. I am going to check on that LGEnv. Thanks for your encouragement
Joyful traveling,
